ARTE Re: Good Wind Energy, Bad Wind Energy – Two Villages and Green Electricity

Wind power not only stands for green energy; it is also a very lucrative business model. Ever since Germany decided to phase out nuclear power, the country has been expanding its wind power plants on a massive scale. Rainer Christiansen is happy about this. He runs a wind farm on the Danish border and has set up a cooperative society to ensure that the local residents in Ellhöft can participate. For Gilbert Schulz in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania the situation is very different: more and more wind turbines in Pripsleben are sources of noise and shadow flicker. Here, local residents receive no compensation. ARTE Re follows him in his struggle for the citizen-friendly development of wind power.
